No Till Planting

The Problem:

Soil erosion is one of the biggest concern that effects productivity and quality of agriculture for hillside and terrace farming operations. One of the simplest low cost solutions to this problem is the practice of No Till Planting.

The Solution:

No till farming is the practice of planting new crops into the existing residues of previous crops. This practice insures that the ground maintains coverage and thus greatly reduces soil erosion.

Not only does this technique reduce the degradation of hillside soils but it also greatly reduces labour and aids in moisture retention of the soil.
